In this episode, I’m joined by Oshi for a wide-ranging catch-up on building small Bitcoin-native businesses, selling at farmers markets, and why his cookie experiments may be stealing the spotlight from HODL Butter. We talk through product ideas, shipping food, customer trust, and the strange joy of trying to grow a circular economy one jar, bar, or batch of browned-butter cookies at a time. From there we read through a stack of boostograms, reflect on doing solo episodes, and swap notes on podcasting 2.0, value-for-value support, and the growing cast of listeners hanging around the show.
We also get into Nostr and Lightning wallet setups, including thoughts on Rizful, Alby, Primal, Spark, and Coinos, plus the latest fun from bullishMarket and its zap-duel mechanics. Along the way we shout out permaculture resources, homeschooling tools, and a few favorite merchants, then cap things off with stories about plumbing disasters, mystery leaks, trout fishing, and the ongoing challenge of balancing family life, building, and Bitcoin. It’s a loose, funny, practical conversation about food, tools, community, and doing real-world stuff with sats.

Alright. Let's go.
[00:00:25] Permanerd:
Hello, and welcome to the Yada podcast where you are the algorithm. I am Permanerd, and I'm joined today by a special guest. And his name is Oshi, and he's a good friend of mine. How are you doing, Oshi?
[00:00:38] Oshi:
And we're back. We had a tough time with the whole countdown clap thing, thing, but here we are. It's hard to be organized. Yeah. You know, we'll get it. What is this? Episode nine? Number 20. 20. Yeah. Wow. Yeah. You were solo on the last one. I was. And it was I left you hanging. But I was busy. It was difficult. You handled it well, though. I like the quick episodes like we were saying. So you you were busy
[00:01:03] Permanerd:
building an empire. How'd that go? It's
[00:01:07] Oshi:
a small empire. It's a neighborhood empire. You have to start somewhere. Yeah. Gotta take over the block. TikTok next block. Right? That's right. TikTok take over the block. No. Not .com. Not yet.
[00:01:22] Permanerd:
Yeah, your farmers markets, how are they going?
[00:01:25] Oshi:
They're doing well. This was the third one that I did last Saturday. They're usually four hours, ten to two and yeah, I do pretty well at them. This the third one I did, this last one wasn't as good as the second one that I did but yeah I can't complain. It's really fun just getting out there talking to people, slinging butter, slinging cookies this time. They were a hit, The cookies were a hit so I think I should probably I was thinking about how to do this. Maybe have like some sort of pre order thing on the website now where know have like a certain number of cookies available and people could just pre order it and it's like fresh kind of thing.
We'll see, I don't know, still figuring it out. But yeah, markets are awesome, they're fun. Wow that's great. Cookies,
[00:02:14] Permanerd:
tell me more.
[00:02:16] Oshi:
Oh, the cookies, yeah they're Well see this is the thing is I just use the same ingredients that I have on hand for the huddle butter which is basically just the pecans or pecans. I'm always asking people at the markets actually how they say pecan pecans. How do you say it? I think I'm going to eat some pecans.
[00:02:35] Permanerd:
Pecans,
[00:02:36] Oshi:
I think yeah I think pecan is correct. I think
[00:02:40] Permanerd:
it's pecan, I don't know, Canada in general because I don't speak Canadian. Yeah.
[00:02:48] Oshi:
Sometimes I just say both pecan and pecan but yeah it's the cookies they just have roasted pecans and the maple sugar. The maple sugar I use for the butter I just use as well for the cookies. And I think it is actually really unique for these because a lot of people just use either dark sugar or what is it? Just like white granulated sugar. I don't use that. I just use the maple sugar. Adds like a nice taste profile and it still absorbs the moisture like the other kinds of sugar but yeah it's just way better.
Sometimes I use the bitcoin beans cacao in there but I have this other 70% dark chocolate that's really good. It's all high quality stuff for sure but yeah I browned the heck out of the butter so it has like this really dark just taste. Oh it's awesome dude. I wish you didn't live so far away I would send you some because I they're really awesome. I've never really made cookies until recently but
[00:03:47] Permanerd:
I've been I've been nailing it. Are there a way or do you have a way to dry them out or something to where they would be more shelf stable you think? Well this is the thing, they kind of hold up. I sent some to
[00:04:00] Oshi:
the Daniel on Oster and also another buddy of mine and what I do is I double heat seal them in these little baggies. They seem to hold up and the good thing about sending them over the post is that they keep kind of warm in the box. So it actually benefits. But yeah there's no real problem shipping them as of right now. So but I'm always thinking about how to improve it. But so far so good. Cool. So you're expanding your product line. I like it. Yeah. I've been kind of thinking about maybe sunsetting the huddle bars and really focusing on the cookies because I think the cookies, I don't know, they just have more and also I just kind of enjoy making them. I don't know. There's something fun about baking because the HODL bars, there's no there's no bake in the HODL bars.
It's just dates and some of of the other stuff. There's no oven involved or anything. You dehydrate those though, right? I do slightly. Only for maybe eight hours at low temp just to get rid of some of the moisture from the hotdle butter. They're really good. But I I don't know. I just really enjoy making the cookies and everybody loves a cookie, you know. Especially like, I don't know, the ones I've that I make, they're really quality ingredients. It's it's one of those trust me bros, but trust me bro. Trust me bro. Trust me bro. These are awesome. Well, I think you've got the social capital to be able to make a statement like that and have people trust you bro.
I think so. I definitely appreciate those that have stuck with me for I don't know how long I've been a non officer for Oshie, maybe year and a half now? Which is crazy to think about. Two years? Actually I don't even know. Maybe a year and a half now. But yeah, it seems to have some sort of trust which is really cool. So you know if you guys are listening and you've ordered something from me, thank you. It means a lot. And, yeah, just always trying to expand the product line to some capacity.
[00:06:00] Permanerd:
And I can I can vouch for your product? True. Yeah. You got the Huddle Bars. I gotta I gotta send you some some more stuff. And the butter. I just actually use my finger to clean out the
[00:06:11] Oshi:
the butter that I've had for a year or however long it's been. It holds up. If you put it in the fridge, it's like it's kind of like wine. You know. It just kinda gets better.
[00:06:21] Permanerd:
Yeah. It was good. Yeah. I've I I I've just been saving it, the remnants and then whenever somebody new comes over I give them a little taste.
[00:06:31] Oshi:
Mhmm. Oh yeah. There is a buddy of mine on Oster that ordered four jars, recently actually. He's going to some, his wife's friend has like this very expensive mansion or something, and they're bringing it over to introduce my product to them, like Bitcoin introduction through the huddle butter, which is really funny.
[00:06:53] Permanerd:
So we'll see how it goes. Nice. Get those rich guys on board. Yeah.
[00:06:58] Oshi:
Yeah. Give me give me some of your sass, man.
[00:07:03] Permanerd:
Speaking of of food products, I, my mouth is burning a little bit. I had a couple of these pepperoni sticks that we that we got at a deep discount, but they're ghost pepper. I think that's why they were on a discount. Aren't those the hottest peppers? I don't think they're the hottest in I don't know. Who knows? I'm not the pepper connoisseur but it seems like every two years there's a a new variety of pepper which is now the hottest pepper ever. Mhmm.
[00:07:33] Oshi:
Yeah. I'm not so much a hot sauce guy. Know? I I like enough hot so that it's enjoyable. I'm not trying to, you know, scold my tongue.
[00:07:44] Permanerd:
But Yeah. If you start hearing me, like, talk like this or something like that, then it's probably because my tongue is swollen up from ghost pepper pepperoni.
[00:07:56] Oshi:
Speaking of hot sauce actually, I I went across town to meet up with a friend of mine who wanted to buy some butter and he actually makes hot sauce. And supposedly he's pretty well known in his area making hot sauce and stuff so yeah it's pretty funny. What's the name of his hot sauce? What is the name of it? I honestly can't remember. His name is Greg. Greg Famous. Yeah. He's a he's a really really funny guy actually. He'd be interesting to talk to. I'm not sure if he's into Bitcoin though. Probably not. I don't care. I don't wanna talk to him then. Fuck it.
[00:08:33] Permanerd:
Next. Alright. Well, we're all caught up here so we'll we'll move into reading some boosts, are or some boostograms, which are short messages that are put with small amounts of Bitcoin, which can be sent via podcasting two point o modern podcasting apps. And this is a value for value show. So we don't ask anything upfront, but after we throw this product out, then anything that you can return as value, we are happy to accept, including the said boostograms. So since the last episode, which I read them, and then I realized afterwards that I probably should've just saved them for when you were back so we could read them together.
Don't. But Oh, well. But if I didn't do that, then it probably would have been a three minute show because it's hard to do a show by yourself.
[00:09:27] Oshi:
No. Well, here we are. Let's go through the last one. Alright.
[00:09:31] Permanerd:
The first boostogram is from undisciplined on fountain, 804 sats. I'm not sure what that number represents, but I like it. And it says, kudos on you for attempting a solo episode. PSA, and then it's a a Nostrad NPUB. But I did look it up before, it was Rev Hoddle. And it says so it's Rev Hoddle started a permaculture territory at StackerNewt. Oh, cool. I didn't see that. Yeah. I don't know why the NPUB wasn't resolving, but need to get over to StackerNews a little bit more and check it out. I'll meet people over there now as you're talking. The next boost gram is 200 tats from Joey Fish at Fountain, and that looks like a new new name to me. Yeah. Sounds it. And it says sweet with an exclamation point.
So thank you, Joey Fish. Welcome aboard. The next one is 2,100 sats from Reed BTC. And it says, great job on the solo rip, and then a Shaka emoji, and then hashtag Yada. So these are all from number 19, Dave's not here.
[00:10:49] Oshi:
Is Dave still missing? My goodness.
[00:10:53] Permanerd:
Well, that was Daniel who's missing. Oh, Daniel. Sorry. Yeah. Yeah. Dave is from, what was that, from, Cheech and Chong. Dave's not here.
[00:11:04] Oshi:
Oh, I I need to rewatch that. It's been a long time.
[00:11:08] Permanerd:
Thank you, Reed, and everybody should listen to the Local Bitcoiners podcast as well with Reed and RevHoddle. And then a 111 sats from bullish bitcoiner via his boosting app, which is bullish boosts, which is a new one. So it looks like he's got that up and running. And I tried to use it bullish from my phone, and I couldn't get to log in. So I think it might only be browser based right now. But if you got a way to do maybe an Amber sign in on Android, let me know. Then a 101 sats from Nostragang on fountain. And this is for number 12, where is Daniel? Nice. Oh, going back. It says, I missed this one. Shame. Shame.
Well, you are now forgiven.
[00:12:08] Oshi:
And just to touch on that, where is Daniel? I still have the Daniels package sitting on That's unreal. My table. Honestly, just send it to me, and then I'll send you some some cookies.
[00:12:20] Permanerd:
I already sent you stuff. Let me just get it.
[00:12:26] Permanerd:
I want more. Man, I don't know what the what is the the statute of limitations on an order that I mean, I could just, like, YOLO it and just send it to whatever address the post office feels appropriate.
[00:12:44] Oshi:
Take a guess. Yeah.
[00:12:46] Permanerd:
Daniel, Minnesota. I just hope he eventually finds this and then has a laugh at it and then answers my emails.
[00:12:56] Oshi:
Yeah. I mean, it was a big order, wasn't it? Yeah. It was a pretty big order. That's such a I
[00:13:03] Permanerd:
just hope there's nothing nothing happened to Daniel.
[00:13:06] Oshi:
I know. You never know nowadays.
[00:13:10] Permanerd:
And made a a call out for our friend Jim Seifert, and now he's back with a 1,033 sats from episode number 18, type one problems. And it says, Jeff Laughton has a lot of permaculture videos. Paul Wheaton's permies.com forum is filled with practicals practical examples of what people are doing with permaculture. Jack Spearco did a multi part series that's excellent too. And I remember that one from Jack Spearco, and it is it is pretty good. And these are all these are all free resources. So Jack Spearco is the the host of the survival podcast, and so he definitely has a a back catalog with with quite a bit of permaculture information.
So thanks, Jim. Welcome back. No hashtags? No. Oh, man. That's a good call. I wonder if this is a bot impersonating Jim. Dude, Jim was hacked. I think Jim's been replaced by AI. Oh, well, actually, there's one. It's the a lot of hashtag permaculture videos. Oh, okay. Good. But it's only one, though. We need proof of life. That's all. We need proof of life from Jim. Because I don't want a hashtag r I p, hashtag s m I j. Next boostogram is from bullish, again, on from number 19, and it says still waiting. Still waiting on the first Yada listener to join hashtag take my sats,
[00:14:57] Permanerd:
and that is HTTPS
[00:15:00] Permanerd:
colon forward slash forward slash WWW dot take my sats. It's good to have the live version back. The next one is 333 sats from Chad f, and it is it said music track test. Cool track. Oh, is that your the tracks that you put on for the last one? Yes. Which was leave the porch light low. And I need to verify that this worked because I set it up in Pod Home, and and then I went back after I saw this boost to check to see if it worked, but there was a it looked like there's a toggle or something I had to hit after setting it up. So that was the first time I've added because you can add a music split, and then you just put the time that it goes for. So I just put the, whatever, the three minutes until the end of the show.
So all the the boost that came in for that should be going to the artist.
[00:16:01] Oshi:
Cool.
[00:16:02] Permanerd:
But I don't know if it did. And if it didn't, then I will send those 333 sats to for the music personally. Support them. That's right. And that was via Cast o matic. And then we got a 121 sats from Rev Hoddle. And it says continuing to spread the good word of permaculture. Loved all the audio clips and creativity making the episode still fun and lively even though Oshi wasn't around. I was missed. Aw. Well, he never said that, really. Oh, okay. Thank you, Rev Hoddle. Local bitcoiners.com. Then a 100 from sir t j the wrathful.
And it says, also listened to this episode because I was curious from the title of what what it had woah. Wait. From the title of it, if it had something to do with v for v music artist, Dave's Not Here. Mhmm. No. I didn't even know about Dave's Not Here, but I will look into it. Because there's something something you might like. Oshi, there's a vforvmusic.com. No. I've never never seen that, heard that. It's so it's all value for value music, and it's a pretty good I think it might be Sir Libre who put it out, but it's a it's a cool website for value for value music if you need to find something to I jot that down. B4v.com.
And the next boostagram is actually from sir t j the wrathful as well. It's 333 sats, and it says, I'm new here. Saw your show because you tagged Chad f in a post. I kinda like the idea of making notes. Preferred to see first above others, but by your own choice, not the algo. What if it was like how Myspace used to make your top 10 friends, but this is, like, your top follows so they show up first, like, a layer before the regular timeline? Interesting idea. And that is referring to the app that I was, thundering around with
[00:18:17] Oshi:
Oh, yeah. About
[00:18:19] Permanerd:
adding weights to to different end pubs in order to have them populate first so that you can make sure you don't miss, the NPUBs you want to follow on Noster.
[00:18:31] Oshi:
Mhmm. Yeah. That's pretty cool. Where are you on that build?
[00:18:35] Permanerd:
Same place I was last week. Well, actually, you know what? It hasn't even been a week because today is Wednesday, and we usually record on a Friday. So we might be changing our day around here. So instead of saying it was a week, it's only been a few days. So but the same as same as before. It's been it's just hard because the only time I really have to do stuff like that is starting to get late at night. And so Mhmm. My brain isn't necessarily in the right space to to try to vibe code.
[00:19:12] Oshi:
Mhmm. Yeah. I feel you. Sometimes late at night I feel a bit more creative. I don't know why. I was working on oh my gosh. I forgot I was working on this last night. I'm sure you've at least heard his name, Terence McKenna. Yes. I've heard no I've heard I've heard it. Yeah. Big fan. He's got this time wave zero theory where he takes the hexagrams of the I Ching and maps out this time wave novelty thing. And I have this old file with all these math equations and theory and things like that and I plugged it into like my little clanker and I was working on making something. I don't have it quite finished yet but when I do I'll share it and, it's gonna be pretty wild. But yeah, we'll see. I forgot I was vibing this last night. Nice. I see he was into
[00:20:01] Permanerd:
psilocybin it looks like. Oh
[00:20:04] Oshi:
yeah. Oh yeah. Oh yeah.
[00:20:07] Permanerd:
My man. About those cookies.
[00:20:10] Oshi:
Oh, no. These cookies don't have that. Nope.
[00:20:14] Permanerd:
Alright. Sir TJ the wrathful, thank you. Welcome. I hope that, you stick around, and I will I like your idea of of the mice. Maybe maybe the app should even look like Myspace. Oh, buddy. Oh. A Noster client that looks like Myspace. And they even have a picture of Tom.
[00:20:38] Oshi:
I could see it now. His little grin. Yeah. Exactly. Little slut. Looking over his left shoulder.
[00:20:47] Permanerd:
That's right. That's right.
[00:20:51] Oshi:
Oh, yeah. I remember it. Glamour shots. Alright. Tom's
[00:20:55] Permanerd:
glamour shot. The next these are both from bullish and bullish boosts. This is a 111 sats from bullish, and it says here's a bullish boost from the Alby extension. Ask and you shall ask and you shall receive, Perma Nerd. Well, there you go. Send in boost. Send in boost. Send in boosts. Awesome. Boosted. The next one's a 111 from bullish again. It says, the show must go on. You and Chad f and 33 others recorded solo on your respective podcast this week. Way to go. I always was curious. Who's the 33 others? That's a good question. Chad, if you're listening, who are the 33 others?
[00:21:46] Oshi:
Because I feel like there's only, you know, 34 people ever using Noster.
[00:21:51] Permanerd:
You know? Maybe that's it. Maybe it's him and the other 33. Yeah. It's him and all of us. And I know that 33 is the magic number, so that works. I mean, considering that Noster is a a fed operation, so of of course, it'd be 30 And it looks like the last one is from Noster Gang again for number 19. Says, thank you for holding down the Yada Fort. Holding it down. So, yeah, that's cool. I appreciate the reaching out about the solo episode because it is it's definitely more difficult. Oh, you handled it like a professional podcast though. Yes. I am nothing but a professional podcaster.
And so I was wondering, because this one I don't think I no. I I read these ones, but this one was from from Alice, and I was, kinda wanting to get your perspective on it. Let's go. And it it's the question is what wallet do you connect for Noster Zaps, Noster Wallet Connect? I'm running into an issue where I often cannot Zap others. I'm not sure if this is a Spark Primal issue. I use an LSP. Do you think Nostr users should pay for an LSP service or use something like Coin o OS for lack of a better option?
How does one know which option to choose? Multiple
[00:23:17] Oshi:
questions there. Yes. I'm trying to think. So I used to use Koinos, Adam does awesome stuff. He's a great developer, but I don't think I would recommend Koinos anymore right now. Just because of some of the issues that were going on in the past. But I personally use Rizful. R I Z. Riz, Rizful. They're awesome. I haven't had any issues with them. I've been using for quite a while now. So I have that connected for my Nossers apps, my NWC. And what's really cool is you can open different vaults or different accounts within your main account. So you can create different connections and keep it all organized. I think Rizful is run by the the mega Megalith folks who run like one of the largest node operations.
Yeah I would recommend looking into Rizful for that for sure. Nice. Good answer. Yep. What do you use? Although I will say I also have an Alby connection which but I run a node. I'm sure Alice doesn't run one which is fine. But yeah if if you don't run a node, Rizful. Definitely Rizful check it out. If you do run a node, I think Alby works pretty well. There's been a lot of some negative feedback about Alby in the latest news cycles, but
[00:24:43] Permanerd:
I don't know. They seem to work just fine. That's what I use. I have a Alby on my node, and then just just connect that way. Because one of the things I like about Alby is that you can create a bunch of sub wallets. Mhmm. You know? So all the the boosts come in to an Albie sub wallet, and then I can easily keep track of of how many there are. And then when it gets up enough to pay for the pod home, then I just swap them over to my other wallet. Yep. Which, actually, there was just a bill. So, we're we're gonna need a little more more boost people because we got bills to pay and cookies to bake.
[00:25:26] Oshi:
Cookies to bake, bills to pay, domains to run.
[00:25:29] Permanerd:
How you are to spew. That's true. So, yeah, thanks for, all the boost. It's great to see the new the new faces and the return of the old faces. Jim, proof of life, please. And then we did have some some streams, which were also from the supposed Jim Sievert, so we'll see. If
[00:26:00] Oshi:
that is your real name.
[00:26:04] Permanerd:
Oh, and some from Chad f as well from the last
[00:26:08] Oshi:
episode. And 33 others.
[00:26:10] Permanerd:
And 33 others. Thank you, guys. There's Bill. There's Tom. There's Susie. There's Janet. There's
[00:26:19] Oshi:
Rev. There's you. There's me. There's Alice. There's and the Daniel, bitcoin beans, and it's probably probably a little early for it, but merchant of the day, I was thinking kid warp. Kid warp vanilla paste, vanilla beans. Perfect. Awesome stuff. Awesome stuff. Because I just I picked up some more vanilla paste from him for cookies and stuff. So Kidwarp vanilla what is it? Kidwarp vanilla shop? I think that's what he calls it on, sir. Oh. I think he's got a shop on Take My Sats.
[00:26:55] Permanerd:
On where? Take My Sats?
[00:26:58] Oshi:
You know? It's not .net or .org, but
[00:27:02] Permanerd:
dot I mean? .Io oh, wait. That's dotcom. Oh, I missed you, brother. And sign up for a an account at take my sats.
[00:27:24] Oshi:
You use Added the fifth in there. Nice.
[00:27:27] Permanerd:
That's why I got confused. A little deeper. Add the promo code YADA and and see what happens because we're all interested to to see what happens. You can sell your wares for Bitcoin, which there's there's really no better feeling with when it comes to selling. Not your underwear, though. Well, I mean, whatever. There might be a market for Oshi. We don't judge. Your other wears. We don't judge. I'm looking for used underwear.
[00:27:55] Oshi:
I'm on eBay for that. This has got only two holes in it.
[00:28:02] Permanerd:
The other part of this exceptionally long opening is the stats from Pod Home. And they are deflated a little, but we did go over 13,000 all time downloads. Nice. So I think the next milestone's a million. Yeah. We're almost there. 21,000,000. Let's go. That's right. For the last episode, number 19, Dave's not here, there have been a total of 248 downloads, which is actually more than number 17. Oh, no. Not quite. But total so far. So make me feel better. Download that episode because I was I was doing it by myself, and I'm so self conscious about it. So if we could get those download numbers up. Get this man some cookies stat.
[00:29:01] Oshi:
And a cup of raw milk.
[00:29:04] Permanerd:
And then the the one before that number 18 type one problems is up to 425 down. So, yeah, share the show. That's another way to to return value. And I was looking, and I don't really see any new countries that have listed. But there might be it's hard to tell because they it goes by numerical order. So that you would hit all the did we hit all the states? Well, it's only The United States. Oh. And that is 8,480 total download. And then looks like well, there's only one one more country in South America, looks like, that we Which is?
Well, it says France. That's that one.
[00:29:58] Oshi:
Oh, yeah. France and Africa? So
[00:30:02] Permanerd:
I I think let's see. There's there's Guyana. There's Suriname. And then it's right next to Sur it's between Suriname and Brazil. Oh, France. What is it? I can't oh, what is it? No. What else is the other one right there? It's Chad and 33 others. Oh, somebody tell me what it is. I can't remember what it is. I should know this. Guyana. Is it I'm not good with African countries. No. South America, man. South America. Oh, wow. France isn't in Africa. I need a cookie or two. France isn't in South America or in Africa. It's in South America, obviously. Yeah.
[00:30:47] Oshi:
Yeah. Right? French Guinea? That's Guinea. That's slang. Right? Okay.
[00:30:55] Permanerd:
So we're gonna move on now before we're arrested.
[00:31:03] Oshi:
Just wait till they hear our b roll talk. Yes.
[00:31:07] Permanerd:
Yes. We are just as friendly when we're talking when no one's listening. Although, here there's here's a couple. These are these are fun ones. We're gonna request request messages from Albania and Romania. Nice. So if you're in those countries listening, shoot us a message. And I think that's about it. Let's move on to something else.
[00:31:38] Oshi:
Let's do it. What's on the what's on the agenda? Well, there was a bullish market last week. Oh, did you attend? I did. I was able to attend. Cool. How was it? I I wasn't able to. I didn't I don't have any product right now. Well, you could just come say hi. I know but I I was doing other stuff. It's hard to it's hard to, you know. It is. I'm I'm glad it's still going. Like I I really think it's awesome what he's doing.
[00:32:04] Permanerd:
And it's it's growing too and there was I think it there's 21 people at a time there and then there was some other you know, there's some turn turnaround as well. So how was it? It was good. Yeah. It was good.
[00:32:18] Oshi:
Any new vendors? Like, who's who's new? Oh, boy.
[00:32:22] Permanerd:
There's quite a few. Yeah. There was probably well, let's see. If there's 21 people in the market, there's 21 vendors probably.
[00:32:31] Oshi:
Yeah. But, I mean, there's some repeats. There is I don't know. Was BJ there? Jerky? No. I don't think so.
[00:32:38] Permanerd:
Or there's arrow tags? Just like a Maybe arrow tags was there. There was
[00:32:44] Oshi:
Trying to think who else. Finca Yabasi. Yep.
[00:32:48] Permanerd:
There. Was Bitcoin Beans wasn't there. Oh, there was a meat place. Oh, what? I can't remember what you guys' names are. Sorry if you're listening. Yes. They were serving they had wild game Cool. Boxes that you could order. Wow. Bullish. Send us a list of the people that were there, please, because my brain doesn't function very well without cookies. Ugh.
[00:33:14] Oshi:
I gotta send them overnight.
[00:33:16] Permanerd:
Stat. One hour delivery. Oh, man. What would the cost to that be? Like 0 if you Canada? Amazon. That'd be, like, $80. Oh, yeah. Probably. If they would even get there. Oh, the the cost of shipping has gone up because it's fun too because you, you know, you get the the order and everything. It's paid in Bitcoin, and it's fantastic. Eric FJ, thank you. He he had made an order during the market. And Nice. And so, like, we always say that that's great. And then you get into the fiat part, which is the shipping. And Canada Post, the prices have gone up.
And then and so you pick the one that you want, and then you go to the subtotal or the the the checkout, and it says, oh, and then there's a fuel subcharge. Well, yeah, I kinda figured you were gonna be using fuel. Why is that not in the price?
[00:34:08] Oshi:
Yeah. And then you gotta donate your kidney.
[00:34:11] Permanerd:
Yeah. It's like,
[00:34:12] Oshi:
so charge $4. Kidney. What? Jesus. So just move to The States. Just move your family tomorrow and save everybody the hassle
[00:34:25] Permanerd:
from living in Canada. I would, but I can't afford to ship myself. No. Wait a minute. Did you just ship yourself? What's that smell? Did you just tape yourself in a box? So, yeah, it was a good it was a good bullish market. He's always doing new fancy things. This time, you can go and if you push the z key on your keyboard and you have your wallet set up, whichever way you you look, you fire a zap. And if it hits somebody, then you zap them. That's awesome. It is pretty awesome. You can hold it down. You can hold down z and it charges it up. No way. And then it and then you shoot it, and then what however many zaps you charged it will shoot towards somebody. What if you miss?
Then I think it just goes in the ether. Oh. So I I mean, I it doesn't it doesn't charge your wallet or anything. Don't think. Like, it's just a That's cool. That's really fun. I I love that. It is pretty fun. I was trying to get somebody to do a duel with me. So anybody if I'm at the next market, come up to me, and we'll do a duel. And I thought that we could what you can do is is pick a number, maybe a 100 or something, and then three paces turn and fire. And whoever's whoever's furthest from a 100 with the Zap total that they do has to donate to the bullish market. But everybody's too too scared to fight me.
[00:35:57] Oshi:
Oh, you're the bully? You're the bully on the playground? And the market's every twenty first of the month. Right? It is. Yeah. Yeah. I'll try I'll try to be at the next one. Yeah. You can you can duel me. I'll duel. I'm not afraid of you. Bring it. Bring out my Charizard.
[00:36:21] Permanerd:
And then, there's been no there's been no Bitcoin meetups here still. I'm not sure. Oh, still? Everyone's kind of a low key Yeah. I don't know Sad. If we're done or Well, you said that you were going to try and Well, I know. I would like to, but You said There's even more that's even more time. Mhmm. I hear you. And then somebody was but I there's a a simplex group, simplex Yep. For it, and somebody was saying that yesterday was asking where tomorrow's meeting, but I didn't ever saw anything. Maybe there is one tonight. Oh boy, maybe I'm just not paying attention.
[00:36:57] Oshi:
Maybe. There's a I have one in it's maybe like thirty minutes away from forty minutes. It's an early coffee meet up one. I'm not sure if I can go but what's really cool is one of the farms that we went to, he accepts Bitcoin and he's going to bring some of his produce and things there. I think he's got rabbit and some goat and eggs and stuff like that so I'm gonna try and go Friday morning we'll see. But it's just a drive. How sorry how far was it? It's maybe forty minutes, forty five minutes. Okay. It's early though so I'll try to go. I I like hanging out with them, talking Bitcoin stuff, just hanging out with friends. Yes. Like I said, the the the one that the last one I went to was a bit somber
[00:37:47] Permanerd:
as far as as far as that goes. So, yeah, we'll see. Do you wanna do you wanna elaborate on it? Oh, just You don't have to. Yeah. I think it was just the the bib bib one ten Mhmm. Thing, and and few of the the members were were playing an intricate part of that. Yeah. I mean, they were they are very very tied into the Bitcoin ecosystem for sure. And so I think that went downhill. And then it was also right around the time of the cold card hack. So Mhmm. Yeah. It was
[00:38:24] Oshi:
Gosh. I time moves so quick.
[00:38:29] Permanerd:
Oh my gosh. I forgot about all of that. Yes. It does move so quick. But I'm looking at meetup.com, and there's there's no the last one was was canceled on the September 2, and there's been nothing. So or maybe they just don't like me, and they just are creating events and not letting me know.
[00:38:49] Oshi:
Yeah. I mean, you're a bully from what I can tell. Yeah. That's right.
[00:38:52] Permanerd:
Stop trying to duel me in a zap duel.
[00:38:57] Oshi:
You're not taking my 100 set.
[00:39:03] Permanerd:
Yeah. And I've also I've been spending way too much time here trying to fix leaks so that Yeah.
[00:39:09] Oshi:
Speaking of, I had something go on with my shower Oh, yeah. A few days ago. Yeah. The the handle, you know, the hot and cold kind of handle and shower kind of got stuck and I wasn't able to turn off the water, you know, low key freaking. I was like, oh, shit. So I had to go and turn off the the main water valve and we were kinda without water for a day and I tried to fix it myself but I just couldn't oh yeah the stroke got stripped so I tried to drill that out but I couldn't I just couldn't get it so luckily I had a friend who knew a friend of a friend, plumber guy, super awesome guy. This was on a Sunday too so he was able to come out and yeah he saved the day. Didn't charge me very much but there was no way I could have done this myself because he was struggling with getting it fixed.
It was well, the cartridge that you have to like take out of it. I I've never done it before. I was looking at videos on how to do it myself but yeah. I mean he was struggling with it too so there's no way I could have done it. But yeah, always annoying to deal with plumbing stuff. Definitely in that in that perspective
[00:40:15] Permanerd:
where it's an emergency or yeah. Like when plumbing goes bad, it goes bad.
[00:40:22] Oshi:
Yep. It's not the last And it was and this was the other thing, dude. It was right after I came back home from the market. So, you know, I had a great day. I come back and I was like, oh, fuck.
[00:40:33] Permanerd:
You gotta you gotta wash that market stench off. That's for sure.
[00:40:38] Oshi:
Yeah. For sure, man. Smelling like, you know, Fiat plebs out there. Exactly.
[00:40:43] Permanerd:
I smell like Fiat.
[00:40:47] Oshi:
Gotta clean it off. So, yeah, it was like such a stark contrast between, oh, yeah. Great day. Let me hurry. Let me go take a shower. Oh, crap. I can't turn off the water. I'm gonna flood the bathroom. But, yeah, it was all good. My
[00:41:07] Permanerd:
leaks have not been quite that extreme. Yeah. Let's let's talk leak stories. What do got? Well, we have this little it's a 10 foot zodiac boat that we just take up to lakes and whatnot. And one of the pontoons, there's two two sides to it, and one of them was was leaking, and I found the leak. And this is when we were up at place called Vernon Lake. And so I put some some Gorilla tape on it, and that that kept us from perishing. And we were able to do a couple hours, but then we have this really expensive fix stuff that my wife bought when she when she got the boat, and it's called final fix. And it's supposed to just you put it on there, you're done. You put a patch on it. And so I spent a bunch of time preparing it and putting the the goop on and then putting the patch on and then had to there's a kind of leaking water out the bottom, so I had to fix that a little bit, and I did that. And then went to put the boat in the back of the truck and looked at the patch, and it was half hanging off.
And I just peeled it, and it just came right off. And then I took the the glue stuff, and it just peeled right off as well. This is way too expensive. Was final. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I sure was. And done. It's finally going in the trash is what it's doing. So now now I have to fix that again. And and on top of that, we have this 20 gallon fish tank with a few fish in it, and there was water accumulating underneath it. And I don't know anything about fish tanks, and I don't even wanna deal with fish tanks, but I have to. And and so, like, oh, man. We put some towels down, and it just kept there just kept being water accumulating.
My god. Gorilla taped it. And so the final fix it. Final gorilla. And so then ended up borrowing a a 10 gallon tank and and moving water over, moving the fish over, emptying the tank of everything that's in it, and then taking it outside, filling it back up to try to find this leak. It's just not leaking. I have no idea where it's leaking from, if it was condensation or something. But it's just a mystery leak, and it's just taking way too much time for these these fish. And What kind of fish do you have in there? Well, we had a lot of fish. Now there's only a few fish.
But Did you eat them? No. They they fish are hard. So we had, well, we there's five tetras and some sort of little algae eater guy. But we had other things like ghost catfish and a few other of these algae eaters, and they all gave up the ghost. They ate the ghost pepper. I don't like fish, man. I like catching fish.
[00:44:03] Oshi:
Yeah. I'm with you there. They stink.
[00:44:06] Permanerd:
They do stink. The thing's this thing smells terrible.
[00:44:09] Oshi:
We had some red slider turtles
[00:44:12] Permanerd:
back when I was younger in the house. That was kinda fun though, but they they stunk. We have been getting out and doing so we've got our fill of ocean fish in the freezer. Oh, yeah. You got a whole stockpile of that. Yeah. It was a lot. And so now we've been we've been going out and doing some trout fishing, going to lakes, and and Yeah. That's really cool. I sent you that video. I think I put it Put it up on us. Yes. So we've there's been this little I mean, there's a we live five minute walk from a provincial park, which is pretty well used.
Lots of trails and and whatnot. And there's this one little creek that, you know, we've walked past so many times, and I've wanted to go down. And so me and the kid went on a just a I don't know. It's probably a four or five mile hike yesterday and ended up going up this creek from a different a different area. And that's where those salmon were, and there was some cutthroat chasing them around as well, some trout. And so we're gonna rig up the the fly rod and go down there in the next few days and see what we can catch. That's awesome. Hell, yeah. And then we went up up north a bit and did a day trip and fished a couple lakes and caught a couple trout out of a beaver tail lake, it's called. And then yesterday, we also saw some elk.
Oh, yeah. Which is a That's really cool. Yeah. It's the first time I've seen actual elk, you know, in this this general area right here. We've seen lots of sign, lots of elk poop, and some and some tracks and whatnot. But yesterday, we saw saw the actual elk. That's cool. Are you gonna hunt it? Yeah. I can't do it. I think it was private property. I don't even know. Like, I don't even know where we were really, what the what the property was there because it was outside of the park. Oh. And to hunt elk, you need a special you have to get a limited entry draw.
[00:46:20] Oshi:
Well, lucky them.
[00:46:23] Permanerd:
Yeah. Otherwise, I tell you what, there's no chance I would have missed that. Throw that on a grill. What they say is there's nothing better than elk and cookies.
[00:46:35] Oshi:
Oh, elk cookies, sign me up. With a cup of raw milk.
[00:46:45] Permanerd:
And
[00:46:46] Permanerd:
then I had one more request for this, the listeners of this show. We've been we we've been homeschooling, like, kids in grade three right now or in The States, third grade. And it's to the point now where we wanna find some some good online homeschooling resources. And he's been using one called Maya Academy or Mia Academy, m I a academy. But I was looking for some other resources if anybody has any that that are good and aren't completely Fiat.
[00:47:24] Oshi:
Yeah. You should put a note out on Nasser. I'm sure someone would, know something. That's true. But I'm asking here instead. There's some smart cookies here. There really are. Smart cookies there. Yeah. I I really don't know any, but
[00:47:43] Permanerd:
something to maybe ask Claude. Oh, yeah. Well, I've put together a list, but it's just, I'm just hoping there's something a little more abstract that I didn't that I haven't seen. That takes a lot of time too, man. Homeschooling takes some time.
[00:48:01] Oshi:
How long has he been doing that? Well, he was in Montessori
[00:48:05] Permanerd:
up until kindergarten, I guess. So a couple years, preschool and kindergarten, and then so, yeah, he's just been homeschooled first, second, and third grade. Look at him. That's awesome. Yeah. And the the cool part is that last week, he actually finally learned something. What was that? Oh, I can't remember.
[00:48:26] Oshi:
Just saw That his little finger fits inside of his nostril just perfectly? Yeah. No. More like,
[00:48:34] Permanerd:
dried peas fit up there.
[00:48:39] Oshi:
Boogers are salty.
[00:48:41] Permanerd:
That was one of the one of the trips to the emergency room. He Oh. He came with, like, ah, there's something in his nose, and he he had stuck a pee up his nose. No way. That's amazing. Which was a lot less bloody than the other times he had to go, so that's good. Oh, jeez.
[00:49:03] Oshi:
That's so funny. I'm glad he's okay. Yes. Yes. He's okay. I had a friend across the street when I was younger. This was I was maybe
[00:49:11] Permanerd:
four, five. He swallowed a 0.25. And he pooped out 15¢ change.
[00:49:20] Oshi:
No. He, he experienced inflation during that time, and he pooped out a dollar.
[00:49:29] Permanerd:
Did you say inflammation? No. I said inflation.
[00:49:38] Oshi:
Yep. I think he's a cop now. Cool.
[00:49:48] Permanerd:
Coming up on the hour. Yes. I think we'll push off the permaculture principles till next week. But it was fun to catch up, and why don't you tell everybody where they can find you?
[00:50:06] Oshi:

I'm thinking about putting up some sort of pre orders thing for the cookies so keep an eye out there but other than that I'm on Noster. If you just look for Oshi or type in Oshi good for the Nippo five, you could just find me there. But yeah. And that's that's really it for me. I don't really have too much. Okay.
[00:50:43] Permanerd:
Order those cookies. Let's get this make this a thing. Yeah. I wanna be the cookie guy on Noster.
[00:50:49] Oshi:

[00:51:01] Permanerd:

[00:51:05] Oshi:
I'm going right now .io. Cookies.io.
[00:51:15] Permanerd:
What about you? Sats for snacks? Sats for snacks. And I think I actually, in that last episode, I I said my website was takemysats because Yeah. I think he did. Because I'm dumb. Yeah. And you could just take piece of it and just eat it, and it's so good without Is there anything that you can't freeze dry? There's nothing that I cannot do. Car oil? No. Basically, fats and yeah. Fats are kind of the one thing that doesn't work that well. But, yeah, I would I don't know if I can ship if I can ship to The States, the bone broth. I don't know. Yeah. I don't know. Unless it's something else maybe. Oh, it's for Yeah. You're it's for maybe it's a a fertilizer for your plants. That's probably tax. Yeah. That's it. Well, it's probably taxed even more, though. It's probably more duties on that.
[00:52:47] Oshi:
Just say you're sending freeze dried bananas.
[00:52:50] Permanerd:
Which is what I'm doing today, actually.
[00:52:54] Oshi:
